Question Velocity Resources Trannys???

I was just reading in a post titled "Direct Port 100 Shot + S/C on 5AT" about on of the guys (MtBikR) having a Stage 3 tranny from Velocity Resources....the thread was from 7-14-2004, but how come no body has ever talked of this before? All I've ever heard of was Level 10 and Dr. Evil (which we found out wasn't too good). This guy was running a blower with a 100 shot on top of it!!!! Obviously the tranny took it like a champ! I clicked on the highlighted text to take me to the webiste but it was a poker site or something like that. Can anyone enlighten me on this? I figure if I'm gonna drop some more cash into my car it might as well be on a GOOD tranny right?!?!
Thanks guys,
Baum

PS~ Yes I used the search feature

That was a show car and im pretty sure he never used the N2O. I also remember something about those trannies having problems, which is probably why no one talks about them

I think there were a couple of other guys with the VR tranny and they didn't hold up well either.

CleanCL had a problem with Dr. Evil also. Take a look at this thread:

Yeah I had read that before while I was trying to slowly save up for the Dr. Evil Tranny! Glad that post came out before I could save enough. Anyone know anybody that's had work done by Level 10??? Also, I've been seriously looking into a 6spd lately and there are a few with in 200 miles of me but then I'm concerned about taking off all my mods and stereo etc. Lastly, for those of you who do have a 6spd....how close are the gates while shifting? I've read about a lot of people saying they've gone from 5th-2nd or 6th-2nd etc and bouncing the ol needle. Are they really that close? The only 6spd I've ever driven was my ex's S2000 and it didn't seem too bad....are they close to that?
Thanks

Gates are not too close. Just practice a good shift technique and you should have no problem. I replaced the rubber shifter bushings and it made a world of difference in feel. As long as you don't get overly excited shifting, you should be fine.

If you can swing a 6MT, do it. You'll be more satisfied with the results. The bone stock 6MT was as fast as my 2003 TL-S with I/H/E. When I transferred the headers to the CL-S, it was a double bonus
