Tranny warranty only for original owner?

I just stopped by the dealer to advise that my tranny has been slipping out of 3rd gear and just revving and after some manipulation I get it to either go back into gear or shift up to 4th. The service writer said that the tranny warranty is only for the original owner of the car. In addition he said that the tranny warranty isn't for my year. The only service bullentin he pulled up on his cpu was the one describing the jet fix and inspection process.

Is this information true? Can someone add some links for me to read on this matter. I am the second owner. I bought the car with just under 2,000 miles. I have service records showing that I brought the car in at that time to do an oil change, tranny fluid change, and brake fluid change. I have a 2003 CL-S. I bought it in November 2006. (little old lady never drove it.)

Thats not true, I'm the second owner on my 01. It was still covered, well mostly covered. I was out of warranty by three weeks and I had to pay 700.00 for the new tranny. Total bill was like 3400.00. So I think I got a deal @ 700. I've read that some 03 models were not covered.

Check your VIN# on this link to see if it is covered.

my vin not covered under settlement per link

I went to the link provided and my vin number it said was not covered by the settlement. This would validate what the service adviser said. However, he did say he would go to bat for me if it was found to be faulty. It sounds as if the dealer give me any hassel over this, I will have to call Honda Hotline. Has anyone had to call the Honda Hotline to get them involved?
