sorry state of CL auto transmissions
Anybody have some words of wisdom about acura cl auto transmissions. I have 2 cl's and the 6 cylinder car is for sale now because acura made such a sorry transmission

Tranny is shit, mostly in 01 models but if you're lucky, you won't be one of them. Some are still on the original trans w/ no problems. Drivetrain warranty extended to 100k. A lot of us had their trannies go out and replaced many times, some I think 5 or 6 times. The CL is awesome but I think it's just the hassle of having to get the thing replaced. Do a search!

Unfortunately, it's not 'mostly 2001' .. it's about 5 model years of Honda V6 automatic transmissions .. be it a Honda or an Acura .. up to an include 2003 ... my last honda slush-o-matic .. not because of their crappy-assed design .... but because of their crappy-assed handling of the whole situation .. denying that there was anything wrong and be-littling the owners who would bring one in with obvious symptoms
