i have heard from some people that tranny has a tendency of acting up if you use the tiptronic shift a lot so if i could hear from people what they thknk/ have heard and also if they use tiptronic or not and wat # tranny they are on

no need to use tiptronic - the tranny will start acting up all by itself, just give it time. In my case it was only a few months.

I've used SS (AKA tiptronic) from day 1. My tranny is fine. I generally use it to keep the car from shifting too much in traffic (it hurts gas mileage).

Depending on how you use it, it could actually help (if used to keep the car shifting LESS, the tranny should probably last longer).

Acura had plenty of quality control issues and some people got lots of hard mileage out of their cars, other were not so lucky.
