Power transmission flush?

Power transmission flush?
Comming up on 60,000 miles. I changed the ATF at 1,000 miles when new and then every 15,000 miles. I have decided I would NOT have the oil jet kit installed and take my chances. What is everyone's opinion of power flushing the transmission? Will it help extend the life of the transmission or push it over the edge sooner?

As long as you replace the fluid at short intervals power flushing should be ok. It's when you put 100,000 miles on a tranny without ever replacing fluid that you may have problems. This is just my opinion based on past experiences so please only take it as so.

Whether or not it's true or not remains to be seen, I was told by an Acura service advisor NOT to have my '01 CLS auto tranny flushed because it can "damage the seals." With our notoriously glass tranny, I'm not going to try it.
The extended warranty on the tranny covers us - assuming you don't go over 100K miles.
Me? I'm sticking with the manuf's suggested maintenance protocol. Of course, it comes from the same outfit that told us the tranny wasn't a problem and low and behold it is. Of course, it comes from teh same outfit that it putting on bandaid oil jets that are still letting tranny's die. Oh, well..

3) run tranny though all the gears
4) drain
5) fill
should take you exactly 6 quarts of tranny fluid.
i have started to drain and fill once at each motor oil change.

There has been quite a few members (and I admit it's very possibly just coincidence) who had their tranny die shortly after having it flushed. I just happen to be one of them.
I'll be doing a drain / replace every 20k miles (all highway btw) from here on out.

Pressure flushing or flushing with solvents would not be good. A machine can be OK..

If it was a power flush -- I wouldn't be surprised.
OTOH, if you just used the "iterative method" where the fluid is exchanged a few times using the standard drain/replace (1 cycle per visit for the “service”), you probably had some bad luck; it happens.
You can even get a machine to "dump" the old Honda ATF via the band-aid -- or oil cooler lines -- and this WILL NOT cause any harmful solvents to be run through the transmission (well, not unless you ask them to).
Any method that basically removes the OLD ATF with new ATF in a "gentle" fashion should work fine. As with all things, if you get a stupid enough person to due the job or you are unlucky to find that the dealer or other agent is “experimenting” or learning on your car, well time to get out the

I would stay away from any pressure flushing or any system that used solvents or cleaners to douche-out the tranny. IMO, you're asking for trouble.

How do they power flush these trannnies? My 01 doesn't have lines routed to the radiator, and would be difficult connect into the lines to power flush/filter the fluid.
