AT hatches at 50K...happy ending

My 2003 CL-S lauched the transmission last week while I was driving down the hwy. at about 55 mph. The trans. dropped into fail mode (2nd. gear) then the engine raced between shifts as I drove along the side of the road. As luck would have it, I was less than two miles from the Acura Dealership. I pulled into the service bay, explained what happened and in 15 minutes I drove out with a 2007 TL loaner. Later that day, the service writer called to say Acura would replace the AT at no cost. The car has been out of warranty for a year. It was purchased new in another state. I bought the car last November and am the second owner. Before I bought it, I learned all about these AT's from this forum. I had the trans. fluid changed the day after I bought the car just to establish a relationship with this dealer. I'll never know if that had anything at all to do with the repair, but it did seem to help make the process move smoothly.

Thats about all the miles thoes tranny's can handle 50K. My tranny also died at 50K, it was also a smooth process with the dealership. Gotta love Acura's, what can you say!!
