Check your owner's link. Here is the "official" recall news.
Goodwill
It depends on your VIN # and how many miles are on your vehicle. You also have to be having transmission problems and it helps if there is a code stored in the computer. I just had my trans replaced this month in my 2003 CL and my VIN# was not listed on the recall and I was at 117k miles. Acura would only goodwill 50% of the transmission and I ended up paying $1900.
I had the problem with my 99 cl I had to put the new mini rad in tto keep the oil cool pretty smooth now *&%*&%&* expensive would advise to get it installed before you run into this problem only 2- 3 hundred could save you a lot
I just bought my excellent condition 2003 CL about a month ago. I have found that my VIN is included in the recall. How do I find out if it's been fixed? Also the extended warranty language specifies that the warranty covers vehicles for 7 years or 100,000 miles WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. Mine currently has only has 53,000 miles on it but am at/over 7 year mark. Will Acura still replace my tranny if it goes out prior to 100,000 although its been over seven years and I'm not the original buyer? Anybody in similar shoes gotten a replacement or not gotten one?
tranny cooler does absolutely NOTHING to prolong the life of the transmission in this case cause problems are related to insufficient oil flow and internal clutch pack failure as a result
