2003 CL VIN not in recall or class action

Recently bought a very clean 2003 CL, 5/03 build date, 59k miles with a VIN number that is about 10,000 past the last VIN included in the list of 2003 CLs for the extended warranty / 2006 class action. No obvious tranny problems yet, although (hope it's my paranoia) I might hear a little whine, winding out the lower gears.

Anyone know if the 2003s with VINs beyond those included in the recall are not included because they had the Honda mods that Eric L listed in his NHSTA summary on the issue?

It's a BGFA box. Will the tranny serial # tell me anything about whether / when it was built, i.e., after the "fixes" were implemented?

Any ideas on that would be much appreciated, so I know how much I should be sweating about any long trips.

FYI to anyone in a similar situation to what I posted... Spoke to Acura Cust Serv today. Asked them if they could tell me whether the recall oil jet was performed, since I was not able to tell from the website with my VIN (just said I was eligible for it). Anyway, they said it was done by the original dealer in 2004. However, I saw the schematic in the TSB for the part install and it sure does not look to me like it is there, nor is the punch mark that the TSB says is supposed to be done over the firewall VIN (11th or 12th character) to indicate completion.

Also of note, the original invoice says engine made in US, tranny in Japan. I asked if they could tell me the build date of the actual tranny, so I could get an idea of which production fixes may have made it in, in the factory. They could tell from the serial on the box that it was manuf in 1/03. By that, I'm guessing that all but the last batch of 2/03 fixes were applied in the factory. Hopefully the fact that it appears to have been made in Japan is on my side too, since the US pressure plates sucked.

If anyone wants to find out when the box they have in there car was made, get the serial off the label on the tranny and call Cust Serv; they should be able to tell you from the number. Hope that helps.
