Hey Guys, I just had a question about fitting some wheels on my new bought 2001 CL Type S. Would this wheel fit with no problems!? Tire is 22/45R18

Stock height yes, lowered you'll need to do some mods to make them fit. Running skinny tires, fender rolling, camber adjustments, etc.

Follow along the other posts brought up the last few days.

Thats a 19x8 wheel with a 225 tire. +50 offset and a 10mm spacer, so its essentially a +40 offset. The 245 tires will definitely not work though.

And you WILL want to lower it if you do put those wheels on.

if i decide to lower it later on, would this rim/tire set up still work!? LATER ON!? dude i would lower it first. you wouldnt believe, even with stock wheels (typeS?) how good your car looks. your car is going to look silly as hell with wheels and jacked up suspension.

thanx man

i disagree, there isn't really a correct fitment
there are 3 types of rim fitments to me: safe, flush, and aggressive.

safe: no modifications needed, just bolt it on, done

flush: slight modifications to fenders. mostly the rims are "flush" with fenders. looks perfect

aggressive: combination of fender modifications, stretch tires, and negative camber. making the overall look aggressive.

combination of width and offset and tires play a roll in how much modifications you are looking for.

for referance to member's questions:

^ width of 8, offset of 40. rolled fenders, NO camber

width of 8 and offset of 40 will require rolling of fenders and running 225 series tires. it'll fit and look pretty flush

width of 7.5 and offset of 38 will sit flush/safe. it will sit 4 mm retracted from the above picture. running the correct series of tires 225 or 215 is the "correct" series for a 7.5 rim. with 0 camber you should cut tabs or foll the fenders. or you can run a small amount of negative camber.

I have a staggered setup of 18x7.5 and 18x8.5 on a 38 offset and I rub from time to time in the rear. I am also lowered 1.65 in the front and 1.75 in the rear. Has that aggressive low offset look.

What are some brands/websites to find wheels that have higher offsets, because i can't find anything that has over 40 offsets. I'm lowered on tanabe NF, i'm looking for some 19s, and i don't want to roll fenders or anything like that. Just bolt on. I found some that are 19x8 40 offset, but i duno if they'll go....again, don't want to roll fenders or anything. Thanks.

bumping an old thread with the possibility of getting new rims that are 18 x 8.5 40mm offset all around.

For the front, will there be any mods needed to ensure no rubbing?

For the back, roll fenders? cut fender tabs? does it have to be 225 size tire? adjusted camber? or all of the above?

Arn't Miro's rims similar to those specs? I know his rears are 8.5 (not sure offset) and he said he rubbed on big dips, and he's dropped on eibachs....i think he rolled his fenders too. I'm pretty sure the fronts would be fine. I've only ever heard of people rubbing with the wheel turned all the way. ??

I do not know. But before I can answer your question in a timely fassion, I would need to know certain things. Such as:

Are you lowered?
If so, how much are you rated at?
How long have you had your current set up? (over time, springs and struts will settle down)
Do you have a cl-s or cl-p? (an oem weight dif)
What mods have you done?
Have you done any weight reduction?
How much gas will be in your car?
Are you out of alignment?
Is your toe properly configured?
Is your camber properly set up?
And the caster?
What is the offset of the new wheels?
So you have spacers on your wheels?
What psi will your new tires be inflated at?
Do you have any body damage to the fenders; are they pushed in at all?
Are you fat?
Or skinny?
What color is your car?
Will you be riding with passangers?
Will you have a picnic one day, and have a trunk full of grill and or cooler?
With maybe Zima?
Will it be summer?
Or winter?
How much to these Konigs weigh?
What brand tire, again?
What is the tread depth?
are the tires new?
Or used?
Are the wheels new?
Or used?
If used, are they bent?
Do you have a bbk?
If not, will you be applying a BBK?
Is your fender lining hanging down?
Is fender lining bolted up?
Is the A/C running?
Is your fridge running?

You see Kali_11, there is much to be played into here; to just simply answer your question.
