I've got 13 inch rotors and 6 piston wilwood calipers with the ceramic pads and the heat shields removed. So far it works really well !!!

Sadly the designer, builder of the kits is no longer with us. Rest In Peace Sherwin

That sounds like a great setup.

I wished I had the cash to do a BBK. I swapped my front calipers with some stock NSX calipers. Just duel pistons, but it made a noticable difference. It was a lot cheaper, and it allowed me to change all the rotors to Rotora slotted and upgrade to stainless steel brakelines.

I got Rotora BBK w/ hawk pads and was definitely one of my smartest mods I definitely noticed a huge difference, the only problem is the fact that you need spacers to fit stock wheels, but that's no big deal.

If you guys with the stock setup are getting warped rotors, I'd recommend you try removing the rotor dust/heat shield.

a place where they sell different packages of front 4 and 6 pistons for the accord V6 (which is the same) is Precision Brakes Company. they use Wilwood calipers

company website :
http://www.precisionbrakescompany.com/
complete catalog with prices
http://www.precisionbrakescompany.com/newnewlist.pdf

they are making a 4 piston kit for the rear for 99-03 TLs, but the offset of the disks on the tl is slightly different than on the CL (about 5mm if i remember correctly). you can ask them to build a custom kit (which they only would have to change the offset on the hats of the drums on the kit they alreay have for the TL)

I think it's awesome. Stops a lot better than before. And I've put about 8K on since I had them installed and absolutely no problems. Doesn't shake at all when I brake like with the stock ones. I'll keep you posted.

will do...stock heat shields need to be removed because they are too small and will get in the way. They are too small to fit with the BBK. Not to mention the fact that they really don't serve any practical purpose anyway.

good note, i will remember that when installing the bbk.

GUYS keep putting your experiences with your brake setups on this thread, we all have good combined knowledge of the brake systems that work well beyond what the stock system can do.

make sure to note pedal feel, ANY slight fade and how it happened, mileage on upgraded systems and any problems or just good words about what you did. i will be taking pics of my brake setup install when it comes from excelerate.

One quick note about BBK:

I'm not sure who else has had this issue, but just a note for installation and afterwards...

When my BBK was installed (same time as my rear slotted rotoras), the brakes were bled the first time right after installation and needed to be bled again after about 500 miles. Before being rebled, the pedal was really mushy and needed to be pushed in a little further than normal before the brakes would start working.

I bought my setup used from Smitty, and he said he had to bleed them twice when he originally installed them as well. Don't be alarmed if this happens to you, from what I understand...it's normal, and probably will happen.

no jacking here, this thread is for good info.

on all the cars i have had, simple steel braided lines with good pads and fluid makes a HUGE difference. and if your tight on $$$ that is the best bang for the buck, if you feel you need more clamping force get the caliper upgrade and go from there.

sorry i forgot to mention that my stock rotors are warped...so thats why i was asking about those rotors. and im think im going to get ebc pads ive nothing but good from them....might just keep the stock calipers tho...for a while, and get same ss lines.

another Q, i have 04 tl rims.....will those rims clear the bigger rotor? i have about 1 1/2" clearance right now

How wide are those things? My Brembos are really wide, and I know Rotoras fit under my wheels without spacers, but I fear the Brembos won't without a spacer.

btw, i found out that with stock wheels it's a 5mm spacer needed and depending on the wheels you get, you may need a 3mm spacer

+43 offset clears BBK?

that seems a bit low to me... but if you said you can fit it on top of those brakes, then more power to you... congrats on the purchase.
