Wheels voiding warrenty?

Hi all, posting this for a friend.

Basically, her '97 CL is fux0red. In the past couple months the tranny has been acting real wierd, slipping and such. Took it into the dealer and they "replaced" the tranny under warrenty. If only... When she got it back the check engine light was on, the car runs like hell, the tranny STILL slips. It even stalls when sitting in the driveway idling. When the tranny shifts the revs jump real high then it shifts. This happened before the new wheels were installed. The new wheel/tire combo is 235/40-17. The dealer claims that the larger diameter is messing with the computer, causing the problems, since it is putting more strain on the tranny. Bullshit. This combo is smaller in diameter than the stock wheels and tires. We have put the stock rims back on and the problem persists. Has anyone experienced a problem that would corraborate what the dealer is saying?? Frankly it sounds like they are full of it. She is pissed, and wants to just get rid of the car and get a new TT or somethin. Disappointing to say the least.

Any help would be much appreciated.
