Those who have 235/45R17 tires on stock rims.

What was your rim width range on your tires??

I checked past posts, and toyos proxes with 7.5" fit.

Anyone else with this size, but different brand??

Thanks in advance!

Also, have you guys done alignments recently?

I talked to a couple of guys that said the mechanic had a tough time attaching the unit to the tire becuase they couldn't get under the "lip".

Well, I had the Toyos on the stock wheels, and it wasn't impossible to get an aligment with the 235/45-17 on the stock 7" rims, they just said they would have a tough time getting at the rim with that really thick sidewall protector. The RE-730s also have a really nice sidewall protector, but I don't think it is as "thick." It has a really nice metal bead in the side of the tread to protect against wheel scrapes and tire damage, so it may be easier to align on the 7" rims.

It is possible to do the alignment of the 235s on the 7" rims, it just isn't very easy *and* just might find a few scratches (not the rubbing against the curb kind, but some small rubs into the clear coat)

So, I checked (3 places) -- So, I was told.

BTW -- I'm now running very light 8" wheels -- the handling is only a bit better that the stock 7" wheels. The big difference is in road feel/comfort, steering wheel feeling, unsprung weight, and in much improved acceleration.
