Tein SS users, I need your quick help!
I'm on the verge of buying a set of Tein SS coilovers, But I was browsing the Tein website today and it says.
Front Minimum is 1.9 inches
Rear Minumum is 1.5 inches
So does this mean that 1.5 all around is out of the question?
If i wanted to raise it to 1.2 all round also, that would be not do able?
Someone on here swears you can raise it up to the 4x4 stock height, but if teins website is correct, you can't
Let me know asap guys.
Thanks!

TEIN uses a shortened case damper so there will be a min drop. The #'s you posted look right. Even then the min drop isn't that aggressive. It's like have an Eibach Pro Kit on there. You can go lower but you won't be able to go higher.
Also if you need the TEIN SS PM us for pricing.

This is the information I found on the Tein website for the SS-P which should be the same or very close to the SS kit. The Front has a minimum drop if 1.4" with a maximum of 3" and the rear has a minimum .8" drop with a maximum of 2.3" drop.
Tein SS-P: $1235 + $365 for the EDFC
1 - Ride Height Drop: Front 1.4-3" , Rear .8-2.3"
2 - Doesn't require a camber kit to meet outside factory specs if set to recommended drop or higher??
3 - Camber Kit is required to 0 out the camber.
4 - The EDFC is not required, but a preference.

I talked to the Tein guy this morning, and he said those numbers are the "optimal" drop?
Why would they be posted as minumum then?

Take a look at this price list for the SS-P. Under the "Ride Height Adjust Range" there is a Max(smallest drop) and Min(largest drop) for the Front and Rear.
The sheet for the SS kit shows 1.9 to 3.3" front and 1.5-2.5" rear. That is a big difference between the kits (1/2" front and 3/4" rear).

I can tell you for a fact that you can't go back to 4x4 mode with the Tein SS-P. I am running them on my 03 with 18" rims and a 235 tire. I am basically as high as I can be with the Teins, if I drop it at all I rub in the back.

I probably should have worded it different. lol
I don't want to go back to 4x4 style, ever. I just want to make sure that i can be a little higher than the 1.9" drop in the front. I don't want to be dropped any lower than 1.6 - 1.7

None of the Teins will get to back even close to the stock height. But the SS-P kit will get you a 1/2" F / 3/4" R higher than the SS kit.

Its interesting that you are having issue with rubbing at the highest setting with 235 tires. What size wheels / tires are you running?
235/__-18 on 18x__ with +__ offset
Several of the other forum members are running the Teins at the recommended height with 225 tires without any rubbing. The 235 is only slightly wider, but by my measurements and those I have found here on the forums, they should tuck nicely without rubbing. That is assuming you have the correct offset. I am about to purchase the Tein SS-P kit and new wheels/tires and would like to know what you are having problems with to ensure I don't have issues after buying parts.
Thanks in advance!!

I don't have all the info you want, but it is TL A-spec rim not a Sparkle silver accessory rim so it is 18x8.5" I believe that all the info is on the inside of the spokes, but I'm not taking my wheels off to check it right now. I could use a 225 tire and have no problems with it but visually I hate the way it curls in from the rim to the tread, they are a bitch to get seated on the rim and the car can benefit from every bit of rubber you can put to the road.
So raised up about as high as it can go I have no issues with rubbing in the rear and it looks like this...

Excellent information black label. I like the wheels too. I had not seen the TL A-spec wheels before. The drop looks sweet too.
How does it ride with the 18's?

It rides very nice but that is a factor of the suspension more than the wheels. I typically keep it set to a firm setting. Up until 2 weeks ago it was set to 15 out of 16 all the way around. That provided an excellent set up for cornering up to about 65 mph. At highway speeds of 70+ it gets a little twitchy. I just switched it down to 7 all the way around because I had to drive from MA to PA and I have a broken Femur. Really stiff suspension set up and a broken leg is not a real comfy 400 mile ride.
Most of how it rides at this point is a factor of how I have the Teins set. I can make it much smoother than stock or much stiffer. I have noticed that with the suspension set stiff, the car is more likely to hydroplane. When it was set to 15, the car would pop up in water like a surfboard. With it set at 7 large puddles don't upset the car at all.
When I had the 18's on before the Teins went in it rode very well but was a little more likely to follow ruts in the shitty MA highways but I think that is more a factor of having 235's instead of the 205's that they came with stock.
BTW removing the rear seat to adjust your suspension with a broken leg and a titanium rod holding it together is an absolute bitch. EDFC would have been pretty friggin' handy.
