Well here it is decent weather finally came to Minnesota and was able to pull the car out of the garage for the first time sice November. This was my project for the winter wheels/tires/suspension. Im still waiting on a new RSB the car felt really sloppy without it on there but i couldnt hold myself any longer and had to go for a quick cruise down the street, also there is some rubbing going on in the back i posted a picture on the back tire i think it could be raised a little but what you guys think?

So lately i have been trying to dial in the rear suspension, i had them almost all the way up so i wouldn't rub i also went the cheap route to try and roll my fenders with a rubber mallet i know it sounds bad but i actually got good results. Still havent got the sway bar yet so going around turns i got to go slow but should be by friday ill have it and an alignment too

went in to get it over with so when the RSB gets here it will be ready to play outside! |
looking good..
be careful playing with that new suspension ...that back end likes to get squirrely if you push it and suddenly have to let off throttle or brake...... |
The tires are being a PITA right now i have raised it up some but not trying to sacrifice the spring rating by going higher, most of the plastic clips inside the front wheel well have been broken off and seem to be rubbing against a fender tab. Starting to think i should have gone with a 235/40 somthing with more Clarence

Hey Matt! Are you able to give an update after roughly a year with Teins and your other mods? Did you find a good solution? Did you replace or get rid of anything?
|
Bumping this up as I will be installing some Tein coilovers soon on my CL. What are people seeing is the most you can drop before experiencing tire rub with stock rims/tires? I feel like the stock look is awkward, but I am not trying to slam it, either. Just want a sportier look while also replacing the front/rear tired struts.

Completed my install, but still need to get it aligned. Waiting for the suspension to settle some more before getting that done.
I HIGHLY recommend using the recommended settings for the coilover spring reference values that is specified in the instructions. I tried to go lower and the car slammed itself onto a speed bump in a parking lot (going super slow over it). They advertise that these can be adjusted on the car (which is correct), however it is a pain in the ass and takes forever due to clearance issues. Love the ride height (approx. 2 inch drop) and achieved the look I was aiming for. |
