sway bar end link BRACKET SNAPPED plus some fixes...

as i was driving the other day, i noticed the car handling like ass and all over the road. stopped in a parking lot to check out the car. all tires were fine but i looked under the car to find THIS:

WTF!!!! has this happened to anyone?? top of the bracket snapped off with the piece still attached to the end link!
hit up acura and both sides ended up being $34 shipped which isnt bad. swapped them out today

and while i was doing that i handled the door panel issue

hopefully this weekend i can tackle the banging noise in the back...

This is different than the 3G issue. Although a couple of 3G's have broken the end link, it's actually the end-link itself that breaks, not the mounting bracket.

The real/prevelant issue with the 3G is the mounting point on the sub-frame where the RSB D-Bracket screws into.

There was a bunch of guys breaking the links and brackets long time ago but haven't heard of any lately. When I got the Eibach bars, I replaced the end links with heim joints and added a support bracket to mount the upper heim in double shear. Haven't had a problem in over 2 years.

It cost less then a pair of the Moog endlinks and it still didn't guaranty that the bracket wouldn't break.

It looks like the bracket breaks because the endlinks aren't completely vertical. The upper mount is forward and outward of the sway bar mount. So any up and down force flexes the bracket until it breaks at it's weakest point. Mounting it in single shear doesn't help either.

So it's good to just replace the rear sways? When I had my 01' I installed the comptechs. How thick is the progress? Thicker than the eibach 23mm?

its the best thing ive bought for the car yet. for the first few days i had it on the regular setting and didnt know which made me disappointed because it wasnt That much of a difference. then i found out it was off so i put it on "performance" and it will pick up the back tire going over a dip as well as making you lose the back end if you jerk the wheel hard enough. makes the boat extremely more responsive =P
