suspension theory and tire questions

ok, so I understand why the RWD system is better for launches than FWD, but I was thinking about what the best suspension setup would be for a FWD launch. I concluded that the best setup would be to have the front suspension extrememly stiff, and the rear suspension extremely soft. this would cause the rear end of the car to compress down during the launch, but would it still cause wheel hop after it was fully compressed, or would the time spent compressing the back end be enough to get teh car rolling enough to prevent enough trasfer of the rtational power to the chasis?

did that make sense at all? either way it is meant in reference to frst and/or second gen CL's.

on to the tire question. I'm getting some yokohoma V4's installed to replace my stock tires in a couple days, and i was wondering if those tires would give any better traction at the track if i were to heat tehm up first, or is that only with slicks that that works?

thanks in advance.

you have it the wrong way..front soft rear stiff

reason behind this is you want all the "weight" to be on the front of the car and keep the front of the car in contact with the ground..with stiff rear springs, the rear of the car won't "crouch" and you won't lose energy compressing the springs...the front of the car won't lose traction from weight being distrubted to the back

on street tires you won't need to heat them up..if you want you can do a quick burnout (just spin the tires for a second) to get rocks and stuff off your tires
