single piece or multi-piece wheels?

One piece wheels are generally alot less expensive than multi piece wheels and much more common. 2 and 3 piece are usually superior in strength, made of better materials, and more repairable. Thats why you see them on almost all racecars. You can find nice wheels both ways it just depends what you want.
Lots of the big chrome wheels are cast 1 piece aluminum therefore very heavy, not good for cl-s performance not good for me and prolly you too.

i would say that 3 piece look better in general, but of course they're more expensive... 1 piece are more gentle on your wallet... and there's a bigger variety for em i guess...

3 piece balancing..........
I put a set of Gotti 3 piece racing wheels on a new 944 years back and they were beautiful. I mean drop dead looking wheels. That said, they were SO light that the SLIGHTEST imperfection in balance would cause them to hop. I couldn't ever get the damn things perfect and I tried a lot of tire places in the LA area.
