I just wanted to post a review of what I've experienced with the Toyo Proxes TPT tires in P215/50R17 that I purchased a few months ago.
The pros: Decently aggressive looking tire.
The cons:
-Lousy ride quality with excessive vibration (not an out of balance type vibration but more like a side to side movement combined with the feeling of going over expansion joints even when driving on asphalt.
-A complete and utter lack of traction in wet conditions, and less traction than the stock michelins even in dry conditions.
-and now after 3000 miles a flat tire with absolutely no evidence of a puncture.
I have run these at pressures everywhere from 28 psi to 42 psi. The 42 was courtesy of the wonderful tech that they were training not knowing how to read a gage. And at all pressures the ride and traction were the same. At the time of the "loss of pressure" event, they were running at 32 psi.
Now I may be wrong but given the amount of money I spent on these tires I think I am right to demand a slightly better quality product. As an overall value these tires have been terrible. I would strongly suggest anyone considering these tires as an alternative don't. I will be spending the next few days with a spare on the rear right axle trying to get the place that I bought the tires to give me something else.

i work at a store that offers goodyear tires. we have a 30-day guarntee. so if you don't like them you can return them for something else. you just have to pay to have new tires mounted. which yes i konw sucsk. but its better than saying"tough luck".

ok, they only suck ass if your used to a better tire. I had T1's. Went to replace them with T1's The tire place had these Fz4's laying around & offered me a killer deal on them. I took them. They were a step down from the T1's. They had less traction, & were really bad in the rain. I slid & skidded all over the road in south FL rain storms. I almost crashed several times. Even simple low low speed left & right turns the car would skid. I returned them after 3 weeks, got the T1's. These were 235-40-18's. Maybe they just couldn't handle the power of a modded 6 mt CLS?
