Quickie Tire Question

I know the stock tires for the cl-s are 215/50 r 17, and the stock tires are the michelin pilots.

My question is what other tires are comparable to the Michelin's without the $200/each price tag? Also a link would be cool. thanks in advance guys.

There's not many in the stock size, and if you want a 93 load rating, there's only a couple...

You can check out 215-50-17's on tirerack...

I needed all seasons, so I got yokohama AS 430's but I really wanted to get the V4S (since I had a couple of these when I destroyed a couple of the OEMs).

Searching for the keyword stock in the tires, wheels and suspension forum (where this thread is going to be moved too) should turn up the usual tire recommendations...

I recently got the Yoko AVID V4s 215/50/17 and am very impressed with them. Great grip so far. Replaced my tired Toyo Proxy TPT's and they are very comparable to when the Toyos were new
got a set of 4 for $640 shipped on Tire rack.
Could aslo go with the AVID H4S and go with the 235/45/17's for bigger footprint.

ps.
Michelins are overpriced crap IMO

Do you think that 235's will fit correctly?

I was reading somewhere else about tire strecthing? Also what about Kumho's? I

used to have them on 18" Racing Hart M5's and they were great!. Plus they're

only $98/tire. I mean I do live in Jersey, but the winter is over now so I don't think

a "summer" tire should really matter too much since I don't drive when it's

snowing anyway. LMK
