Question about polished wheels

OK so far Ive spent 4 days polishing the crap outta of my HREs and there is still brake dust on them.

I'm contemplating sending the wheels back to HRE to have them re-polished and clear coated. That way the brake dust wont be such a pain in the ass to take off

good thing about not having clear coat on the wheels is you can polish them to your hearts desire and they look great when finished

bad thing is... it is truly a pain in the ass that Im not good at doing at all

once the wheels are clearcoated the finish would be slightly more dull but it would be much easier to clean and maintain

price for letting HRE to do the task is roughly $1k...which is not bad considering I bought the wheels at great price

can anybody give me any advice

found a place that can refinish the wheel and clear coat for a flat fee of $109 for everything per wheel. I dont know if I should just trust them

is the dust like stuck on ? if it is , i would try CLAY BAR that you would use on the paint of the car, just use it on the wheels and that will get alotta shit off , and then polish them again and should be good to go

Clay Bar it, then also wax the wheel afterwards and buy the wheel cleaning brush from www.griots.com

bring it to a detailer, have them clay bar the bish, wax it, buff it, and polish the shit outta it, then bring it to a repetable paint shop and have them clear coated. You are taking a risk sending them out.

dont sent it to fixrim it will look good at first, then it'll get even more dull as time passes.

Just keep on polishing them as you are. Thats my advice.

Ever try Mothers polishing cream made specifically for polished rims? Comes in a small tub, kinda like the size of those microwave mini-meals. It digs deep into the pores of the rim surface and leaves a great shine.
