Question on 245/35 R19 tires
Hi Guys,
I looked through the forums and hadn't found anyone with this same scenario so I'm hoping one of you here will know one way or the other.
I'd like to put a set of 19" x 8.5 wheels with a +.45 offset on my '03 CL-S.
Those mathematically would seem to fit well enough but the tires are the next question. The correct size (I'm told by tirerack) for that rim will be a 225/40 R19. The guys selling me the wheels say that a 245/35 R19 will be a better choice due to it being a more sold tire and the 225/40 not being that common.
the 245 is going to fit the wheel well enough and the 35 vs 40 should help fix the tirewall height issue but I don't know what the limits really on these cars.
Does anyone here have a 245/35 19 on their car? Did you have to do coil-overs for them to fit? Did you have to knock in the inner fenders at all?
Do they rub?
Thanks for your help on this issue!! BTW: here are the wheels I'm looking to put on my Silver '03 CL-S.

I had 245/35/19 tires on my car didn't rub at all lowered on Coilovers, but the wheels were 19" x 8.5" with a 52mm offset. It Barely made it and I only has about 2 mm of clearance on the inner suspension. Maaaybe a 50mm offset would be safe as well, but anything lower and it will rub on a non-rolled fender.
