Question Optimal Tire Size for Stock CL-S 17's?

I am buying a new set of tires for my CL-S and I'm looking to improve the looks/handling, doing so. So first of all I was thinking of running a 45-series tire instead of the stock 50 (I know it's less protection), and maybe a wider tire size? But I'm dropped a little over 2 inches on the Tein S-Tech springs and do not at all want to risk rubbing.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

235-45-17 end of story

I had 3 CL's with this size. 17K miles, 25K miles, & 9K miles
You will not rub on any drop with the stock rims.

i think 225/50/17 is a great fit. when a tire gets to wide for a rim i feel like the rim floats around over the tread when cornering or in like s turns. might just be me

225/45/17

i just bought some new tires in this size and they look and feel great. definately the right size for this car, espically if your dropped. i also feel that 235 will be alittle bit too wide, i dont think the rim is wide enough for the tire. sure it will fit but 225 would be the better choice

Well 3 CL's, many miles, & HARD driving on 235-45-17's(stock rims) haven't ever given me a problem.

225/45/17 is not the right size. It will be overcounting the kms by 2%
235/45/17 is the right size and fits perfectly on a 7" wide rim

And no matter how low you drop your CL the 235/45's on the stock 17's won't rub? Because they seem awfully wide, with a 2" drop.
