I'm looking to buy some after market rims that are made in Korea or China (ASA etc), but I live in DC and my previous set of rims got bent horribly - so, I'm concerned if I should get some aftermarket rims versus stock TL 06 rims.

You get what you pay for. If you want a high quality wheel that you don't want to worry about failing on you then you gotta spend the cash. Just like anything in life i guess

diameter and tire brand/size will have alot to do with the protection of the wheel. It's impossible to accurately judge a wheel's integrity because to test it, you have to destroy it. Relutation is really the only way, and even that can be unfairly influenced by marketing. We have our wheels load rated for the largest vehicles Honda and Acura make (Pilot and MDX) so we make sure the wheels have the proper strength and capacity. We also engineer our wheels to resist bending with small features like a full inner lip, and mesh ndesign where applicable. Call in, i can explain more.

I haven't heard of many bending stock rims. CL or TL.

Wheels have the same limitations as anything else: The limits of their materials and the way those materials are wrought. Stock wheels are a cast aluminum alloy and are comparible to just about any other cast wheel of a similar compound. There are different casting process (vacuum being stronger than gravity) and the like, but honda wheels are likely made by a third party wheel manufacturer that makes lots of other cast alloy wheels. If you are really interested in the limits of your wheels, read the back of them. As per DOT specs, all wheels must have printed on them the limits of their load carrying compacity and maximum air pressure.

If you are looking for a stronger wheel, look at forged wheels. There are several manufacturers of wheels that will have a forged series, but expect to pay alot more since the manufacturing process is a lot more elaborate (and more costly).

I've seen lots of just about any kind of stock rim bent in my line of work, that honda or acura logo doesn't make a wheel any stronger than an enkei or konig logo.
