Need help with tire size for Acura 01 CL-S 19's

Need help with tire size for Acura 01 CL-S 19's
I'm looking into putting 19's on my 01 CL-S
what's the best tire size to put I haven't lowered the car of touched the suspension everything is stock,
I was thinking 225/40/19 or 235/40/19,
I need help because I want them to clear without rubbing and without any modifications
if you have any other suggestions let me know thanks alot

depending on the offset, 235/35/19 if u get 245/35/19, with a little drop, u'll rub in the back.

I'm running 225/40/19. When my suspension was stock i never rubbed. You'll only have to worry if your drop the car. Once I dropped I had a little rub in the rear and a little in the front when turning over a bump. Just roll the fender or cut rear to eliminate any rubbing. After I cut the fender, I never rubbed again unless I was 4 deep and went over train tracks or something.

Before (no rub, except big bumps)

After (rubbed like crazy on bumps and hard turns till i cut fenders)

thanks alot for the feedback guys
I'm gonna go with 235/35/19 because
speedometer difference is : 0.036% slow
diameter difference is : 0.04%
while 235/40/19 are ...
speedometer difference is : 3.693% slow
diameter difference is : 3.57%
and supposedly anything over 3% difference in diameter can cause brake failure

Good choice. You shouldnt rub at all, even with a drop. The offsets and wheel width tuck the wheel behind the fender pretty well.

I ran 235-40 on my 18x8 48mm Legends, (with that tire they were the same height as the 19s) and I didnt rub even dropped.

i'm running 19x8 with +50 and 225/35 all around. KSport coilovers with hardly any finger gap and haven't rubbed once. That's probably the one advantage of the high offset.

Yeah Ron pretty much guarantees you won't rub even on 19's. They are perfect offset and width. Good luck!

Quick question...

Will the following fit a stock suspension CL?

19X8 +40 235-35-19
19X9.5 +38 255-35-19

Even with the 255s? I dont think a fender roll + 255s + 9.5" wheel will help, not to mention the +38mm offset.

Then again, he did say stock suspension.

with stock suspension it should but the only problem its going to stick out unless he runs camber. then if he runs camber he should down in tire size.

Thanks guys for the quick response. I'm trying to sell my wheels, and a guy was interested with an 01 CL. I didn't want to waste my time and try to fit them.

Appreciate the help!
