Need help with my suspension/wheel setup!

Hey guys, I have been doing a lot of searching the last few days, but really needed some specific help as I'm about to pull the trigger on the install.

So, I have a 2003 CLS auto with 80k all stock.

I have purchased a new set of eibach pro kit springs w/eibach dampers, 18x8 sparkle silver A Specs 45mm offset.

I am very concerned about rubbing with this setup. I know 235/40 is the best size tire, but it will likely guarantee rubbing on bumps. I don't mind my speedo being off, what is the best tire size for appearance and no rubbing?

225/45/18 or 225/40/18?

I'm thinking of using the continental DWS tire if that makes a difference.
I also need some help on which center caps fit these wheels. I want the raised chrome cap.

Thanks in advance!

Youll only rub on the most extreme bumps, and with someone in the back seat.

BTW, I have the caps youre looking for - PM if youre interested.

I had the same springs and 18x8.5 A specs with 225/45s...tiny rub on the back only with 4 onboard and a good bump. I'd live on the edge and go 235/40...it's what I was gonna do, but I got a TL instead.

I ran 18x8 +48mm with 235/40s. I rubbed once, and that was with a 220 pounder in the back seat. I was lowered on coilovers too.

3mm isn't going to make a hug difference.

So, should I go 225/40 or 225/45 that tire rack recommends?
Anyone have a photo of an 18x8 with a 225/40?
