MPG and Alignment
I've got a 2-inch drop, and have been driving without an alignment for a few months ... I noticed that I was fillin up quite often lately, and deided to calculate my MPG for the last 3 fill-ups : 16.09 MPG. I did a sort of half-ass measurement of the (not camber, maybe caster?) angles of the wheels from each other... so looking from the top, the wheels are angled like this:
\___/ (Front)
/___\ (Rear)
It has been painfully obvious from driving that alignment is absolutely necessary, but I've been so caught up in school. The reason I'm posting this now is not to question that, but rather to see how my MPG changes after I get an alignment tomorrow. I will be posting a follow-up soon.

BUT SIXTEEN?? DAMN!

The toe-in (or toe-out), if too far out, will really hurt gas mileage.

That will definitely blow your fuel economy...
I'm surprised your tires didn't look like a mess with the outside and/or inside savaged.

16mpg isnt to bad, I get 16-17 in the city driven hard and 25 on the highway gassing it out of the tollbooths and passing people.....
since the car has been dropped i got an alignment and the rear camber is -.14 and -.44 degrees off, but i dont think the gas mileage has dropped...ill confirm the results on my next fillup.
