Ingalls Arm Ball Joint Help Please

Hi everyone...so I bought and receive the Ingalls front upper arms but one cam with a small tear where the grease was leaking out of thee boot on the ball joint. I contacted Ingalls and they sent a replacement. But what i received today seems to be a cheap and different style boot..... don't even look like the same size

My question is does any one know what size we can replace the boot with like an OEM boot or energy suspension like Ball Joint Dust Boot Set
Part # 16.13102R they fit a 97 accord or if we can replace the whole ball joint with another, maybe moog?

I have the Ingalls ball joints, not the arms so I don't know if the actuall ball joint is different. My Ingalls ball joint boots on both sides only lasted a few months so I ended up using the boots off the old ball joints. Looks like they cracked like old rubber.

cool thank you for the help! they do seem cheap! im so dissapointed in the quality of Ingalls!

Do your Ingalls ball joint look like mine? And did you use the OEM boots from the OEM ball joint?

The ball joint part looks the same but I don't have the arms so it doesn't have the flange with the 6 threaded holes. I used the old OE boots from the original ball joints I took off. Good thing I didn't throw them away. IIRC the fit wasn't perfect but after the wire retainer was installed, fit was good and sealed.

It bothered me too when I saw the boots torn. They look to have been dry rotted from sitting on a shelf for ten years. I could've tried to replace them under the warranty but I didn't want to take a chance on getting some ten year old boots and it happening again.

I wouldn't replace the ball joints just because the boot is torn, I've had mine for a while with no problems and haven't heard of anyone else having any.

Well sounds like the Igalls ball joint is good thanks for your input I appreciate you sharing your experience.

I was doing some research and saw that the 97 accord and the CL have the same front upper ball joint number on the auto parts web site.Today I went and took my Ingalls ball joint and measured the Ingalls and the CL/Accord ball joints. They were the same size (height and shaft .510"). So I went ahead and ordered the Energy Suspension Accord bushings.

I saw on another web site where they were using Crimp Clamps and rings and zip ties for the bottom of the Energy Suspension Boot to keep foreign matter from entering the ball join boot.
