Help! stuck with NTB tires! on my Stock CLS

hey all,
I had to replace my stock size Mich tires quickly on a trip, and had NTB put some on. I had no time to shop, compare, research. they put on these Sumitomo Touring LSV tires, they were $160 ea but I got one 'free'. they seem to have poorer handling, almost like a Buick I guess. I do have a 30 day 'ride guarantee' but would have to pick from NTB stock I'm sure? I don't need the sportiest but some good handling would be nice.
my CLS has 74k mi and is lowered on CT springs. I'm in TX, no snow.

Are any of these others they stock better? not sure what other charges I'd have if I switched these out tho. I need to read the fine print on their 'ride guarantee'. I should have waited to buy but I was on a trip. thanks.

Hands down, the HTR ZIII is your absolute best bet from that list. Those tires blow away any of the A/S tires you listed above. For more information, read Tirerack.com's Comparative Tire Test of the HTR ZIII:

Sumitomo HTR Z III (Max Performance Summer 225/45R17)
* What We Liked: Overall road manners and decisive dry grip and handling
* What We'd Improve: A small improvement in wet grip
* Conclusion: A new tire worthy of being in the Max Performance Summer category
* Latest Test Rank: 1st
* Previous Test Rank: Not previously tested

Exclaim UHP is also a good inexpensive choice... if you place more value on comfort and wet weather handling than outright performance.

thanks all, still not liking these tires much, the handling is imprecise, it;s like a marshmallow. but hate to spend even more $ sjnce I already paid way too much. Plan to go back tomorrow and see what I can do.

Well, if you're all about precise handling (which I applaud), then as I indicated above the best choice on your list is the Sumitomo HTR ZIII. None of the others will come close - they are not in the same performance category.

Good luck!
