front-225/45/18 rear-245/45/18 ????

Hey guys am thinking about getting doing staggered tires. 225/45/18 at the front and 245/45/18 at the rear.

I want to know if our car can handle it. And also if they would be better at avoiding hydroplanes.

I have the axis Mod 7, 18x7.5 so i think they can handle 245s

The tires are Avon Tech M550 A/S

PS i live in NYC now

lol, No, the 7.5" wide CANNOT handle 245. And at that point, you will be making the wheel look like a 16" with a huge oversized meaty tire. 235/40/18 is the largest you should go. BTW, the car is a front wheel drive, no need for bigger tire in the rear. Get ready for flames from other members tho.

Actually you can do a 245 on a 7.5" rim. I had them on a 7" wide rim. (Not with the CL) They performed fine, but I could never get them to balance right. I'd stick with 235's.
And yes no need for staggered on a FWD car.

Hell I have 255's on a 7.5" wheel, but its only because my car is rwd and needs the extra traction.

at the moment i have 235/40/18 in front and 225/45/18 in the rear. not bc of choice, but bc i busted a rim and have my backups on and they have diff tires.

btw - im on LI, i had 235/40 and bent rims left and right, i went with 225/45 and it's doing much better.

...alot of people will tell you diff tho.
