Dunlop SP5000 or Pzero Nero M+S?
Which tire would you choose in 235/45 for stock rims based on longevity and overall performance? I currently have the SP5000's and they lasted about 35K miles.
If the tire rating is 400 for the Pzero's and 340 for the Dunlops is that a true indication of how long a tire lasts?

I've got the Pirellis and it's a fantastic tire. Tread life seems to be remarkable. With a little over 3000 miles on them, I barely see any measureable wear. I do have to warn you about the tramlining issue. With your grooved roads in Cali you may have a problem with it. Lack of snow traction is an issue for me as well, but probably won't be for you. I still don't understand how they managed the M+S rating.

Thanks guys. I am pretty happy with the performance from the Dunlops. I just have heard a lot of people mentioning the Pzeros. I will have to think about the tramlining issue.

Where is my super sauce?
I have the Sumitomo HTR+ in that size which have been doing me quite well. I have about 15K miles and they're at 6/32" tread left (I think they started at 11/32").
Dunlop, Sumitomo, and Goodyear are co-owned companys and many have speculated that the HTR+ and the SP5000 are the same tire, or at least come from the same molds.
