My brother recently bought SSR Strusse 19x8 (+48 offset) wheels for his TL-S.

He is thinking of putting 245-35-19. He currently has 225-35-19 which is thin and not exact diameter spec for TL-S/CL-S. He also wants to put enough rubber so it won't damage the wheels as much when going over pot holes or bump.
We recently took the wheels to Mag Masters in Santa Ana(by the way they do a great job and price is reasonable-Less than Wheels America) and fixed all the bends/chips and got the lip polished . Now the wheels look clean.
I was wondering is 245-35-19 is too wide for 19x8 and is it going to rub?
Also will it bulge out since tires are wide?
By the way, car is not lowered.
Any thought and input will be greatly appreciated and experiance will be greatly appreciated.
Stock 215-50-17: 25.5(approx) inches in diameter.
Current 22-35-19: 25.2(approx) inches in diameter.
245-35-19: 25.7(approx) inches in diameter.
Thanks.

235/35/19 would be better cause it's the same diameter as stock.
check here
also with that offset and width you should have no problem even if it's lowered

I plan on going with either 235 or 245/35's for my 19x8's for more protection also. He'll be more likely to rub in the rear, and it'll tramline a little more, but imo thats worth it for more peace of mind with curbs and potholes.
And a slightly taller tire isnt the worst thing in the world, it'll ride a little better and offer more protection. And 245 is not too wide for a 8" wheel, thats what all 99+ Mustang GT's had, and the tire didnt buldge at all.

Same here. With 245's my brother wheels (19x8 SSR Agle Strusse) will have more protection against pot holes (Compliments of LA Road). He wants to have enough to rubber to protect the wheel. The Diameter may be little off but thats OK.
Stock TL-S wheels are 215-50-17. The diameter is around 25.5 inches.
245-35 19's are 25.7 inches in diameter which is not off by that much. The only thing I am concerned about is rubbing.
