Angry Clicking w/ Tein SS

I recently got my Tein ss coilovers in. after about a week the front passenger suspension makes a loud metal clicking sound when i go over bumps and stuff. I'm pretty positive its something to do with either the shock tower or the upper control arm but i don't know for sure. I've had it looked at and they said it looks fine and was installed properly. Its realy starting to piss me off. I'm getting a 3rd opinion today so well see how it goes. I was just wondering if anyone else had problems/experiences with an issue like this. any info would be appreciated, espesailly detailed info. Thanks.

mine started to click after i put in an ingalls adjustable control arm camber kit in the front. does it when i hit a moderate sized bump or dip. i checked everything and it looks fine and my tires are wearing perfectly now, so i wasnt too worried about it.

No, they are definitly tight. And yes it was just after I put the ingalls upper control arms on. Does yours hit on both sides or just one? My mechanic said theres no marks so I don't know what the hell it is Oh well I'll know for sure tonite.

I would never say Teins are the quietest suspension but I didn't have a lot of consistent metal "clicking" noises with mine.

Get it back on a lift and recheck the bolts, and the rings.

How low did you drop it? Do you hear it all the time, or just over bad bumps?

Other members have commented that if your CL is lowered a good amount the upper control arm (I think both stock and Ingalls) will hit against the shock tower over decent size bumps.

IO hear whenever I go over a medium-small bump and up. Maybe about 30+ times on my way home from work. Highway driving and some ares of local roads are good but its when i hit those semi-rough areas. I'm only dropped to about 2 finger gaps all around.

I have never had that experience before but if it is in fact bad TEIN will replace it for you. You will have to remove the shock and send it back to them but they new coilovers have a 1 yr warranty.

i thought the same thing since mine probably lowered close to 3". however, if i go over a big, smooth dip it wont click. it's only when i hit a small quick dip or bump, so i know its not the control arm hitting anything.

i highly doubt that your strut is bad, but who knows. mine started to click right after i put in the ingalls kit and u have the same kit as me. i would assume we're referring to the same noise.

It's definitly bad.... he took it off and tested it. I think im just gonna get rid of them cause im sick of the bullshit. gonna go with just springs and shocks. Maybe Eibach and some Konis. not like im raising and lowering it ever anyways.

Hey Mikey does yours do it alot? is it like a metal on metal loud clanking noise?
The wierd thing is I thought it was most definitly the control arm making contact but theres no marks at all. And josh did a clean install. so I dont know what it is. I'm just tired. Anyways sorry for the long post and thanks for the help fellas.
