CL Suspension question

I had a 99 accord before my CL. I modded it with the rear stock CL-S sway. Its a popular mod for the 6th gen Accord to get good increase in stiffness for only about $60. And, it did just that for me.

Now that I have the car to go along with the sway ... I'm a little disapointed. The handling of my Accord with the CL-S sway bar was considerbaly better than the boat like ride I get with the CL-S. And my CL-S has a 1.5 inch drop with Bridgstone Potenza rubber and Tokiko adjustable shocks. Anyone have any idea why? I would think it would get better. Could it be the 3-4 hundred pound weight difference? I don't know much about the stock suspension of our rides so...

And, can anyone give any suggestions on what I should do to improve it? Strut tower bar, bigger sways, what?

Yes, get new sway bars. Get either Comptech or Eibach sways. The STB doesn't provide much, maybe a little bit better steering repsonse.

I was looking at the Eibach sways, I think I may do those over the Comptech.
STB I'll probably get CT... I saw a Neuspeed one that was one piece and Im curious to know if that was better. Im sure it doesnt make much of a difference. Does anyone know if DC Sports makes a STB for our CL-S's.

nitelyfe, how do you like Tokiko adj's?

The Eibach sways are 1mm thicker for the rear than the CT's. You can still use the stock STB with the Neuspeed bar, you replace the stock one with the CT bar. Also, the Neuspeed is only about $120 and the CT is $275 or something. I'm pretty sure that DC doesn't make one for the CLS.

Thanks for your help. Does anyone know if the stock sway is 19mm?

They're OK. I have the fronts set to 5 and the rears to 4. I'm thinking of dropping the fronts to 4 cause its too friggin bumpy. They've been on there for over 1 year and I haven't had any problems.

Which potenzas did you get? Your dampening is probably too soft...and yeah the sways will create flatter cornering....your CL should stomp your old AV6 in every way.

I'll have to look at the exact tire specs later today. I never can remember. I wanna say they're 225 50 18 and I think they're ZR rated.

I agree my CL should be better in every way. By the way, I had the F23a4. Not the V6.

Ah....the weight of your 4 cylinder would help weight distribution....

Anyway, the sways should do the trick...
