CL-S Suspension

Hi,

I'm going to be installing Tein Basics on my car very soon and adding comptech sways rear/front. How much better will the handling on the car be? Would it be comparable to say a BMW330? Just want some sort of comparison i guess. Also there's about a $300 difference between the Tein SS and the basic, is the difference really worth it?

edit: I know i should of posted it in the suspension forum but more eyes see this one so i guess mods you can move it over in a bit?

Thanks,
noodles

I have the SS on my CL. I need to get my sways done, but it definately improved the ride quality. I think the SS are worth the extra cash, but to be honest I have only adjusted the damping 2 or 3 times since I've had them installed. This was when I was going for a long highway drive, and it was a noticable difference.

How would you compare the new set-up to your old set-up (H&R's)? Would you say the ride is lot more bumpy and stiff with the SS's vs. the H&R set-up?

I have the settings pretty stiff. I like it a lot better than with the stock struts and the H&R's. I think it handles the bumps a bit better. And it's nice on the highways.

n/boy, the handling will not approximate a 3 series bmw. however, the addition of sway bars and coilovers will significantly improve handling over stock, especially if you can lower the car
1 1/2" - 2" with coilovers. additionally, high perf summer tires will help with under streer

ahh yes.. the shitty tires don't do the car justice.. i must remember that..
i'm basically looking for minimal body roll on corners and such. I know when i had my previous protege5 the handling was a ton better.. stiff was the word.

thanks for the input guys.. just found out too that the basics is also ride height adjustable which is good so for those highway trips it's not as stiff

I have been thinking of getting the Tein SS for my CL-S. These are not "bouncy" on this stiff setting correct? Also if I adjust them to be soft will they ride like my current suspension or will it still be as stiff?
