235/45/17 or 255/40/17

So far the cars rides pretty good. Handling is a bit better. Still in need of springs as you can see. I feel more grip when cornering due to the width of the wheel and the stretched out side wall. It rides heavier and doesn't have that stock feel. It feels like i'm riding on 18's or so. I still need an alignment due to a slight pull to the left. Plus the previous front driver tire worn down to the metal while the front passenger still had more tread life left before it caught a bubble and blew out. I hope after springs and alignment the car would ride like stock but, better. Do you guys think the 45 profile is still to high for the CL? Can I fit 255/40/17 with no problems? I want to drop it using using the H&R Sport F:1.5/R:1.0 so the rear wont't rub. I promise to post day pics. I wanted to hear some feedback cause not everyone is feeling these wheels.

lol......

255 is WAY too big.

stick with 235-45-17. And what rims are those? They look like TL rims, & you'll likely run when you lower it.

Yes, they are tl-s wheels. When I lower I'm looking at H&R OE Or Sport? what do u recommend?

255 is way to big in what way? Diameter or width? The rim is already 8" wide 255 will just be flush with the wheel instead of being stretched and its 1/4 smaller in diameter than 235/45. Even a 245/40 will be killer. I compared with the miata tire calculator. I'm no tire genius of coures, but at least i do my research.

check this tread. even do its a tl, the tires look sick

the only reason your tire stretch looks so shitty is cause you have a fat sidewall. overall you shouldnt have got those wheels no matter how hot you think they are. plain and simple they dont fit the CL . if you really want the 255 then get them. like i said...let me know how it fits. no one has done it cause no one is dumb enough to not take the advice of numerous members steering them away from the impending doom.
