1, 2, or 3 piece wheels
Does anyone know what the difference is between 1, 2, and 3 piece wheels, besides the obvious? Is it a matter of style, performance, strength? Are there benefits of one over another in terms of the type of driving or road conditions? I’m thinking of getting a set of 3-piece, 18x8, +51 offset wheels and was curious about their construction pros and cons. Thanks.

There are many benefits but the ones that go across the board are customization and repairability. You can customize your lip, your barrel width and your offset all with different combo's which is really nice if you're working on a particular look. Also if you bend a lip or something like that you dont have to refinish the wheel, you can just refinish the outter ring or get a new one.
Its safe to say they're probably stronger BUT this is ofcourse dependent on their makeup. Some 2pc and 3pc wheels are crap and will bend when you look at them. They may also be made of a cheap alloy or something like that. A good rule of thumb is if they're inexpensive they're crap... or fake.
Biggest 1pc advantage is normally weight savings...
