seat memory problem
Hey all. So i just noticed today that my memory seat function doesnt work. I just checked all the applicable fuses, and everything was fine. The green light next to the "1" or "2" doesnt light up, but the backlight does. Ive tried to press the red button to re-program it, and have tried just about everything i could think of, with no result. Any ideas? I hate having something that doesnt work on my car!
P.S. Both seats recline/slide is all directions.

same thing happened to mine. exactly as how you said it. All fuses are fine. I think you might have to replace the memory seat switch behind the door handle panel. I asked acura and they said the piece was 61.xx

hmm it's weird. I rarely use it, so I may just ignore it. What I was wondering is if there is a seperate module/chip somewhere that holds the settings or if it's contained in the button assembly

You may have accidentally unlinked the remote.
Try holding the lock and unlock on the remote for a few seconds. Then lock the door, then unlock the door and see if anything happens.

when you say then lock then unlock, is that with the remote or using the switch inside the car?

You'll see your remote light (the little red one) flash either once or twice. If my memory is correct 2 blinks means you just unlinked it, one means you just relinked it.
It's the unlock signal from the remote that initiates the memory seat function and the opening of the door that completes it. Once you have determined that the remote is linked to the car. Lock the door (it doesn't matter how) then unlock it with the remote then open the door. You should at least see the memory seat light on the drivers door come on at that point.

I tried it both ways, with it blinking once and twice, still no dice. Guess i need that switch, But like i was wondering earlier, is this a all in one unit? or is there a seperate unit.

I worked for Acura for about 4 years and I'd say 95% of the memory seat issues were due to accidentally unlinking the remote. It would have been nice if it was a easy fix.

From another thread:
That tells you what is wrong. Remember, these cars are filled with computers, so it may not just be the switch. It can bee the power mirror controller, the power seat controller, hell, it could be the speed sensor wire for it.

Displaying Diagnostic Trouble Code:
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Press are three buttons at the same time.
3. Turn ignition to ON (II) and wait at least 1 second, then release the buttons.
4. After one second, the position button indicators will blink to show the DTC.
*If there is no DTC stored, the indicators blink only once.
*If there is a DTC stored, the first digit is indicated by the number of long (1 second) blinks, and the second is idicated by the number of short (.26 second) blinks. There will be a 3 second break between each DTC if there are multiple codes.
To exit DTC indication, turn ignition off.
Post back what you see. You'll see 3 long blinks, then either 1, 2, 3, or 7 quick blinks.

So no codes....check the wiring going into the switch.

wiring should all be fine. I used a test light on the wires and they lit up like a xmas tree. Ground and to battery was all fine. It's most likely the switch. I actually have my car in the shop for a valve adjustment and they're going to take a look at the memory switch for me. I'll keep you updated. Hopefully I get the car back today or tomorrow

Did yours do the same thing as mine with the codes? Light up 3 seconds and that's it. Just wanna make sure we have the same problem before I drop 61$ on a switch
