RPM / Power Loss on slow acceleration

I have a 2001 CL-S with 112K miles and about 2 months ago it almost stalled at a stop and my CEL, VSA and caution light all came on. The car went into limp mode and drove awful until i made it to my destination. When I turned off the car and restarted the only light that stayed on was the CEL and the car seemed to drive fine except for a loss of power while accelerating. I took the car to have the code read and I was told it was a bad TPS sensor. I had a new TPS sensor installed and it drove fine for a few days, but the problem returned. I thought it was the tranny, but when I took it to a local Acura independant mechanic he checked and said there are no tranny codes. He was unable to duplicate the problem on a test drive. Currently I have no codes stored and there is no check engine light, but the car will drop power and the RPM's drop while I am accelerating typically at lower speeds 25-45mph. If I stomp on it and accelerate quickly this problem doesnt happen. The power loss at times is minimal but many times it cases the car to jerk as if you applied the brakes. My mechanic suspected the oxygen sensor and disconnected it to see if that helped, but the problem persisted. If I take it on the highway for a very spirited ride it seems to help and the problem may go away for the rest of my trip. Any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
