They are driving lights. No switch for them. They should come on when your lights are on low beam. At least that is what I read in another post the other day.

People have done it before with modification. The main issue is the heat from the HIDs in the plastic housing, which can cause it to melt. Usually people drill a hole on top to let the heat out but not water in.

Oh okay. With modification though? Im thinking that the hid bulb will have to be glued into the road lamp housing since its not going to just fit in and twist into place right?

That i'm not sure. I have not converted my road lamps into HIDs. Though I have upgraded my stock 5 watt bulbs to 12 watt bulbs.

oh okay. and these come on whenever your headlights are on then? one of my housings doesn't even have a bulb in it. and the other one has a blown bulb. Suggest the 12 watt bulb then? might have to grab a pair then...

Yes, they come on with the headlights.
I do prefer the 12 watt bulbs of course since the output is brighter but the bulb is larger then the original bulbs. The bulb can barely fit through the stock hole opening, just needs a little pressure and some twists and it will go through. Not sure how i'll get them out though. Just be careful and wear gloves and protective eyewear incase it shatters as you put in bulb in. I think the bulb size is 921. Stock size is 194 I believe.

They also make the larger 921 bulbs in super white from Polarg and PIAA. And they have yellow 921 bulbs too. Can't remember the company off the top of my head but I plan to switch out my regular 921 bulbs for yellow ones soon.

I'm hesitiant on getting yellow LEDs cause all the pictures I see of yellow LED bulbs look very amber like. Thats why I got regular incandescent bulbs.
