Road Lamp un-wiring question

How hard is it to figure out the wiring with roadlamps? I am about to take mine out to switch to inserts today but I'm not great with figuring this kind of stuff out

You don't have to remove the wiring for the inserts as far as I know. I am doing the opposite of you and trying to wire road lamps in my '03.

It is wired in parallel with your hids so it depends on what you are doing the easy way is to cut

now im not sure if you have to do this but I got in to an accident a while back. Ripped off the bumper and my hid fog setup was in the middle of the road smashed no collision either. So anyways I had to fix it my self but on the back I noticed my drivers side HID headlight was not coming on but as soon as I installed the new balllast to replace the one that was broken the head light came on

So what Im saying is when you cut it there are two red wires on the passengers side you may need to attach these together

I think what they mean referring to with the wiring is the wires coming out of the back of the bulb to leave them enough to attach there wiring ??

I thought he wanted like all of the wires so that he could just take the road lamps out of the box and wire them up. Would this be extremely difficult to remove all wiring?

I'm not sure how the lamps are wired in. The previous owner had a local dealership install the lamps.

Shouldn't be that hard to get under the car and trace the wires back. They're probably spliced into the driver side headlamp because they are only functional when the head lights are on.

Just becareful because if the dealership wired them up to factory specs simply disconnecting them may cause the headlamp to not function.

When I removed the lamps from my '02 CL-S the driverside headlight wouldn't work until I reconnected everything.

Wait so if I unplug it then I might have to get like a dummy wire to plug up or something? Or do I just have to unplug the wiring for the headlights and reconnect

Just be cautious taking things apart and make sure you can reconnect anything that you disconnect.

I don't think it will be that difficult. Just giving you a heads up.

i suggest you just tell him to buy his own wires and plugs.... much less of a headache for you to just sell the roadlamps and not the wires.... i never heard of anyone selling the wires and risk damaging ur electrical system.....those wires are deep into the headlight wires.

I would think he just wants the actual holder or whatever for the bulb with a little bit of lead on it to wire it in

Ya I emailed him and he said that would be good. I should still unplug the battery for that right?
