Opinions needed
I'm new here so i would appreciate all the help I can get. I've been looking to buy a used 2001 Acura Cl coupe. I really like the car but i would like to get your opinions on whether it would be a smart purchase.
First ill list the basic info. It has 192,000 miles on it, looks to be in good condition with a really nice interior, new tires, runs very smoothly with little noise except for a slight rattle in the back when I hit a bump. The check engine light was always on and that could be so many things. I ran a AutoCheck report and it came back clean. It was involved in a crash but only had a little front fender damage. The car is listed for $2,400 dollars.
Basically i want to know if you guys thought this would be a good buy. My only concern is the transmission. It appeared to run well with no problems during the test drive but I've read these transmission are notoriously unreliable. Thanks in advance.

I have a 01 CL w/150,000 miles.Mine will need trany work soon and it will cost $2400 dollars from small shop . If it shifts ok that is a good start,Has the ECM been scanned to find a code for the engine light? Try making an offer of $2,000 if the tranny goes ,your only into the car for $4400 .Which isnt bad.I plan to keep my car untill it dies completely because it is in great shape. I have no other issues...you might also want to find out if the car has had the timing belt changed recently...Hope this info helps..Good luck to you..!

Ok thank you for all the help, I'll ask more about the check engine light and belt when i go back. I'm hoping to avoid repairs unless their necessary like the transmission or something, college is going to use up most of my money lol
