no hard pedal

no hard pedal
Can't get a hard pedal in my 1997 Acura CL 3.0. First we replaced the driver's side rear caliper and brake pads on both sides. Then we replced the master cylinder. Took it to a shop to have them bleed it but there is still not a hard pedal. Is there any other reason other than air in the brake line that might cause there not to be a hard pedal?

Possibly the pads are worn so much, there's not enough fluid in the MC to pressurize the brake lines.
P.S. This is the 2nd gen forum, so someone on the 1st gen forum may have more insight into the issue?

rumor has it, the air in the MC can only be bleeded by a special machine at the dealership.
i have no idea what it entails, but its probably gonna be pricey, so try it as your last resort..

Was the Master Cylinder bench-bled before installation in the car? You may need to do it. Once it is on the car, it can be tough to do.
I don't know the exact procedure for your car. Generally, it involves bleeding each port (and there are 4) until you get only fluid out of it. You should be able to do this yourself and not special equipment is required.

aftermarket mc
We had bought an aftermarket MC and appearantly that was the problem. I took it to the dealership and $350 they ensure me that the breaks are working fine. Thanks to all of your suggestions.
