Need some advice on price quote
So I call the stealership and they say it's going to be $2800 for a new transmission, just part. Then another $1200 for ECU. On top of that they want a $1500 deposit on the core charge for the old transmission. Does this sound right? A non Acura place quoted me $2800 for the transmission installed with labor. I was trying to just get the part to cut costs and throw it in myself but at this rate I fear the CL will never again leave me garage. Anyone got any feedback regarding this?

Damn, that's steep. It's called a stealership for a reason. Still, that's around the price that most dealerships will charge, at least for the trans. Depends on labor for final cost though. 4k total is jut a bit on the high side for a dealership trans replace.
I don't know what your ECU situation is, but if you really need to replace it then I would try salvaging one from a junkyard car.
^ All that pricing info is from impressions I've gotten from reading other threads. I might and most likely am wrong somewhere. However, I'm sure that ~3k is about right for a trans replace.
