My car has a shifting problem

went for a diagnose and they gave me a p1750 code reading. i am really hoping this is not one of those bad transmission problems but seems many people have had the same problem according the threads i have read. I got my car from a used car dealer and am trying to figure out what to do to fix the problem.

What exactly is the problem?

There is no cheap fix u prob will need a trans!
I am having mine rebuilt as week speak $3100..
Dlr wanted over $4500 and rebuild go from $2500-$3500!

the D5 GEAR LIGHT COMES ON SOMETIMES. car jerks and switches to d2 or d1 while i am driving it on the highway so i am now driving it in d2. autozone guy thinks it might be because of low transmission fluid.

oh and after driving it for a while and stop in the parking lot. If i dont turn the car off and reverse going out of the lot, the car doesn't move when i step on the gas. I just hear a loud noise (as if i am pressing on the gas while the car is in parking). Once i put it in D2, the car reverses.

When and where did u buy your car?

Bad trans, like I said before be prepared to spent at least $2500 to get it rebuilt.
I paid $3244 aout the door for a rebuilt tranny but he installed a ATF cooler used Amsoil synthetic and a upgrader torque converter..

Did u bring it to ACURA, go there first and see if they will help the would not help me but they go on a case by case basis.. where do u live cuz if u in north jersey i know a guy thats real good and give 3/36 warrenty!

Goodnight!!!

Hey bro, sorry but your trans is gone! I wouldn't drive it all, unsafe! See what the dealer says first then call customer service, thats what i have done twice. Im going on my 3rd trans in 2 years with less then 100,000 miles.

Did you check the level?

StonedCL 07-30-2009 08:19 AM

Do not let the auto zone guys put fluid in cuz it was cause more damage then good cuz they prob will use the wrong fluid. If they use the wrong fluid then that will just spped up the process. Go to Honda buy 6 or 9 quarts of the Z! and do a 3 x 2 or 3x3 to get some fresh fluid in there so if u do go to acura and they see fresh fluid there will be a better chance they might help u out! changing the trans fluid is easier then the oil!

Ouch, yea def. the trans dude i'm said to say it. You should hit up the place u got it from n see if they offer a short term warranty for things like that cuz thats a major defect kid!!! Not kool

The odometer problem i once had

well,i haven't been on Acurazine for some time now but im happy to say that i was able to fix the odometer problem myself without spending a dime. Turns out that the sensor right on the wheels was loose so it really never recognized that the car was moving. I realized that was the problem right after i bought a new pair of tires. each time i made a turn the odometer would start counting. therefore i went under those tires and played mechanic. I do appreciate all you guy's feedbacks.

The unnecessary shifting

turns out i never knew how to drive the car manually. It was until this year that a friend with whom i had been riding in this car since i bought decided to tell me that i just wasn't shifting the gears right. I'd drive the car in the 2nd and 3rd gear on highways without switching them at the right times. To make the story short; once i learnt how to manually drive the car. I took it for a transmission flush and the car has been driving smoothly since then.
