The battery is also pretty new, and jump start does nothing either. I turn the key to the IGNITION position and basically i hear nothing....

Is this most likely the starter? I checked the 60A ignition fuse and its still good. Any ideas? Basically I gotta tow this thing to a mechanic, but wanted hopefully some input from you guys. Thanks much in advance!!!

small world, same thing happened to me today! turn the key, nothing. all electronics still work tho. i'll be keeping an eye on this post to see if i can help too.

RamZ CLS: What a coincidence... Well, I found a temporary solution that might work if your car is completely suspended. My friend isolated the problem down to the starter... He read somewhere to try agitating the starter... so we tried hitting the cylinder with a broomstick, and at the same time, trying to start the engine ... (its a cylinder that sticks out to the right next to the transmission fluid dipstick) My engine cranked right away. Its a temporary fix to get it started again but basically in my case its a degrading starter. No surprise given its a 2001 with 100k miles. I got a quote for a starter at $120 after core refund ($170 otherwise). Good luck. Let me know if I can be of any help.
