How Many Miles on Your CL-S Manual Transmission?

My 2003 CL-S has 146,000 miles on it. How many miles did you get out of your manual transmission before changing?

117,000 so far. Why would I change my transmission? I presume you mean clutch. I would suspect that unless this car is driven really aggressively, it will probably go 200k before needing a clutch and then only if it's slipping.

i just had to change my clutch out out at 123k but it was driven aggressively! the tranny itself is fine, you do however need to drain and replace fuid if you have not done so and you are over105k.

^ You should be doing it every 30-40k IIRC.

144k kms on mine. I should probably drain the fluid though, just got the car and I don't know when it was done last. Is it time consuming/messy on this car?

I just did an oil change last week, and it was probably the easiest one I've ever done. Drain bolt and filter right in front of your face!

Not difficult. Just remember to have the check bolt out when you fill it up and the car is on level ground to get the most accurate amount in the tranny.

Unbolt the fill and check bolt first, then the drain

170k on mine. In search of a new clutch kit. Ive been looking at excedy OEM replacement but have read that its just a LUK repackeged as an excedy. Thinking about just buying the LUK cause the kit is like 200 on amazon/ ebay. Any recommendations?

Great testimonials for a 10 year old car! Mine just hit 77k and it feels like I can drive it another 10 years.

230K on mine. This is my 3rd 6 speed CLS. Bought it with 227K and didn't get any service history so don't know when the clutch was done last. Will still scratch 2nd though so it's not too worn yet. These cars are pretty bullet proof with the manual trans. I expect this car to run to 300K easy. I do have a small issue with the clutch not engaging/disengaging properly during long high RPM runs which I need to look at though. Think it maybe bad slave cyl or some other hydraulic issue? I actually got on here to search that issue now.

150k miles on mine, hoping to get to 200k before doing a rebuild/refresher. I'm paranoid so it wouldn't be out of necessity really.

170k on mine. Clutch slips if I try and shift to fast at WOT. Other than that it works great, which is why I refuse to replace it. If anything, it keeps me from really beating on the car.

186,000 and counting. Fluid change soon. Previous owner was suggested to do a fluid change at 160,000 but I can't find any proof of in the records of it being done. Any recommendations on fluid? Syncromesh or Honda specific? What do you guys use?

I just did a change this afternoon. Drained out the oem fluid and put in some AC Delco Synchromesh friction modified (same as the gm synchromesh) and I am impressed. It shifts alot smoother than before

I have 171,117 on my 6MT. The clutch and transmission seem to be holding strong.
