Honda/Acura ATF-Z1 or ATF-DW1? which one should I use?
I am about to do a transmission fluid change on my 2001 CL-s. I have access to both Honda/Acura ATF-Z1 or ATF-DW1. Which one should I use? Is one better then the other? Please HELP!!!

I'd use the ATF-Z1 it's better than the original Acura spec ATF that was in it when the car was made. It supposedly helps recondition parts of the tranny. I just did mine on my 97 3.0, if your transmission is at all similar then the hardest part is getting the new fluid in through the dipstick tube, getting it out is easy just need a 3/8ths drive socket wrench (no socket) thats the standard for Honda Trans drain plugs

I just got back from the dealership. They said they no longer carry the Z1. The ATF-Z1 has been replaced by the ATF-DW1. No problem mixing the two as he said that the DW1 is compatible with the Z1.

yea i went back to check into it more. Running the DW1 SHOULD help the tranny actually. But who really knows until a bunch of us start running it, i'll be doing another change n adding this over the summer.
