Has any of your rear view mirrors ever leaked?!?!

One day, it wasnt even that hot out, my mirror started dripping that fluid which is inside it for the auto-dimming. It slowly started dripping everywhere and now there is spots in it where the fluid stayed, and it looks like crap. It sucks cause whatever was in there ate away at the paint on my trim piece around my shifter. Has this happened to anyone? Acura recall?

Funny you should mention that. Mine just started leaking this morning for no reason. The mirror looks like it has a stain in the glass and the black liquid is oozing out. Luckily it looks like it just started, so I was able to put towels underneath to protect the shifter gate trim. That stuff is nasty and eats through the paint.

Anyone replace their rearview mirrors?

Yes. Please search. It's been covered. You have to replace the mirror. There was a TSB on it. You may get it covered by Acura. It's considered part of your safety warranty.

Yeah, mine leaked and the drippings ate the trim around the trans shifter... Dealer at first wasn't going to even honor my extended warrantly! I finally got the mirror replaced for free, but had to pay for trim pieces. $86.10 was my total cost

Mine has leaked or just plain went bad - it has a little wavy fluid looking line at the bottom and doesn't dim at all. It was like that when I purchased the car one year ago... I called the dealership since I need to go in to get my SRS indicator looked at and they said I'd have to submit a Goodwill request or something to Acura... they'd need to see service records etc etc to see whether or not I'm a loyal customer "If you take your car to Jiffy lube for oil changes, they probably won't cover it." Imagine that.
