depends how much you like the car, at that mileage, its not really worth it unless you like it. BUT you can swap a j35a3 in for less than 500$. all your j32 parts will swap over and save you money.

Driving a car knowingly with no oil?! :nono: you killed it.. Look for a used engine to throw in

TacoBello 01-08-2017 10:32 PM

I'm surprised the engine even lasted that long, to be honest.

:rip:

And what is an oil filter adapter gasket? You mean the actual oil filter failed? What brand of filter were you using?

I guess I do still hear something new everyday.

The peice that the oil filter screws into also the oil pressure switch and vtec solenoid screws into is known as the oil filter housing or adapter theres three bolts that attach to block in between the block and oil filter housing is a gasket with compartments and a screen well it failed

J35A3 is a direct fit if you're automatic. You don't want the newer style engine like the 04+.

what? The vtec solenoid is no where near the oil filter.

I have no idea what you're talking about, to be honest. I've never noticed what you're saying, and I've never heard of anyone else suffering a failure of that nature. Something isn't adding up, but regardless...

01-02' MDX = J35A3

Literally a DIRECT BOLT IN. Easily found for less than $500.

PS.. Run on sentences are fuckin mind numbing… :snipe:

thoiboi 01-10-2017 03:43 PM

so are broken caps lock keyboards

Kris9884 04-06-2017 12:31 PM

Dang, would've been cheaper to take the day off work, or grab a taxi.. Anyway, compared to the cost of a new car, its a TRUCK LOAD of money cheaper to swap in the J35 motor. Especially since you already know the car and where its been.

YeuEmMaiMai 06-11-2017 02:49 AM

Some lessons are learned the hard way... and this is one of them.... Type S engine are not totally common so J35A3 swap is best bet
