I have a 2001 cl type s when leaving work smelled a wire burning type of smell from the air cond vents,seemed to go away on the drive home(30 miles) went out to drive the car now battery is dead.disconnected battery to charge then will try to see what shorted out,had one code that was a knock sensor but didn't show anything else,the knock sensor code has gone off 2 times now but don't think that was the smell .anyone had this problem so I will know where to start on this 180000 miles on car now Thanks Steve

 

removed the pos terminal and charged the battery all day had a small spark when I touched the cable to the post but started right up,checked the battery posts with my meter while running and and doesn't seem to be charging.a autozone alternator but I thought it would show a light on the dash if not charging,going to pull it off and see if that is the problem

 

I have a 2001 cl type s and a 2004 tl both have been the best cars from mercedez,lexus,bmw,Lincoln that I have owned would buy another acura we love them
